CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – For the ninth year in a row, The Orchards Restaurant, 1580 Orchard Drive, will host “10-Percent Week” to benefit Summit Health’s Rhonda Brake Shreiner Women’s Center.
From Monday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Oct 29, the restaurant has pledged that 10 percent of all sales will help underwrite free cancer-specific cookbooks for patients at the Rhonda Brake Shreiner Women’s Center.
The Rhonda Brake Shreiner Women’s Center offers convenient access to a wide range of breast health and imaging services. The center also provides a Breast Health Patient Navigator, who provides support, educational resources and helps guide patients through their next steps of care.
To date, The Orchards has given more than $37,000 to Chambersburg Hospital and the Rhonda Brake Shreiner Women’s Center. It is one of the only businesses in the hospital’s 1895 Club for high-level giving.
“We choose to give back in this way because the community gives so much to us,” said Owner Michael Kalathas. “We want to help make a difference.”
In addition to its ongoing annual support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, The Orchards Restaurant supports Chambersburg Hospital with a 10-percent week each December.
