WAYNESBORO, Pa. – Summit Women’s Group – Waynesboro is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Alexander Carlyle Batchev, obstetrician.
Dr. Batchev brings more than two decades of experience to the practice, including three two-year residencies. He said he was drawn to Franklin County because of the relationships among physicians.
“This seemed to be a place where there was a lot of collegiality,” he explained.
Dr. Batchev said he specialized in obstetrics because he enjoyed the opportunity to work with the broad spectrum of health needs that pertain to women, as well as the chance to treat and care for all ages. He noted that people occasionally think of obstetrics as a risk-free field.
“People sometimes forget that while a large part of this field is caring for developing babies, their mothers and celebrating new life, it’s not without complications.
Dr. Batchev said he looks forward to building relationships and caring for his patients.
“I’m most looking forward to getting to know people and caring for the health needs of women here.”
Outside of work, Dr. Batchev enjoys skiing. He also loves to scuba dive, especially in the Caribbean.
“I especially enjoyed diving there through the decommissioned USS Kittiwake, which was used to recover the black box from the Challenger disaster in 1986,” he said.
