CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Summit Women’s Group – Chambersburg is excited to welcome Certified Nurse Midwife Tiffany Gillette to the practice.  This is the first time the practice has incorporated a midwifery model of care.  In addition to offering OB/GYN care at the practice, Gillette will also deliver babies at Chambersburg Hospital.

Gillette recently returned to Franklin County after spending nearly three years practicing as a Certified Nurse Midwife in the largest OB/GYN practice south of Atlanta, Georgia.

Prior to becoming a CNM, Gillette, who is native to Franklin County, spent eight years working within the Family Birthing Services Unit at Chambersburg Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse. Gillette earned her undergraduate degrees from Pennsylvania State University and Chamberlain College of Nursing.  She graduated with Presidential Honors as a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society from Shenandoah University with a Master’s of Science in Nursing – specialty Nurse Midwifery.  She received her national certification from American Midwifery Certification Board.

Gillette is thrilled to be living back in her hometown closer to family, and to have the opportunity as the first CNM with Summit Women’s Group- Chambersburg to help expand the community’s knowledge about midwives.

“Fulfilling women’s healthcare needs and desires, primarily in pregnancy, is my main goal,” Gillette explained.  “My philosophy on midwifery and women’s health is based on the belief that midwives embrace a holistic approach to women’s healthcare as they educate, advocate for, and empower all women.  It is my honor and privilege to be the hands that catch the first breath of life.”
