CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Summit Rehabilitation Medicine, which was established in October of 2015, focuses on patient recovery from both life-changing and minor ailments. A large part of the specialty includes electrodiagnostic testing, also known as EMG and nerve conduction studies. EMG tests evaluate the peripheral nervous system, which is much like an electrical circuit.
Dr. Matthew Pauli has relocated to the Franklin County Area to join the practice. He’s excited to work with patients in Franklin County he believes are underserved in this specialty.
“I am looking forward to providing a service that has been much needed in this community of hard-working people,” he said.
He believes his background in engineering has been very helpful in performing EMG tests, and can’t wait to have a positive impact on his patient’s lives.
“To me, the appealing aspect of this specialty is the ability to help people regain quality of life,” explained Dr. Pauli.
Often, Dr. Pauli said people think rehabilitation medicine is only for people suffering from chronic ailments, but the practice will also offer treatment for patients with issues from acute injuries such as whiplash or for patients who are suffering from overuse syndromes, such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
Outside of work, Dr. Pauli enjoys ice hockey, golfing, tennis, and spending time at the dog park with his buddy Ruffington.
