CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Tarkeshwar Tiwary, MD, has joined the practice of Summit Pulmonology, an affiliate of Summit Health, located in the North Park Professional Building at 601 Norland Ave., Suite 100, Chambersburg.
Dr. Tiwary previously treated patients while completing pulmonary medicine fellowship training at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, Brooklyn, N.Y. for the past two years.
The most important aspect of pulmonology is being able to help and be there for his patients, he says.
“I enjoy getting to know my patients and their individual needs. It makes me feel good to help them,” Dr. Tiwary says.
A native of India where he graduated from Calcutta Medical College in 1998, he was attracted to the Franklin County area for its quality healthcare system and rural setting, but close proximity to major metropolitan areas.
During his tenure, Dr. Tiwary says he is excited to begin forming relationships with and helping his patients, making availability a priority.
“Being accessible to my patients through every step of the process is a top priority,” he says. “This style is good for patients because even though you live in a small town, you’re getting quality care.”
The practice joined Summit Health on Aug. 1, 2012 offering management and treatment of a variety of lung disorders including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, shortness of breath, lung cancer, sleep apnea, chronic cough and pneumonia.
