Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing
I wanted to empower women to take care of themselves, promote good health for women, and empower them to have a voice in their pregnancies and deliveries.
Prior to joining Summit Women's Group - Waynesboro, I spent 13 years working in my own private practice - Country Care Midwifery.
Q: What drew you to begin practicing in the Fulton & Franklin Counties area?
I was born and raised here.
Q: What would you say is a common misconception people have about midwifery?
People often don't understand our relationship we have with physicians and that we are able to deliver in a hospital setting. Some think we only do home deliveries.
Q: What are you most looking forward to at the practice?
I'm looking forward to every woman having the opportunity to have a midwife, working in Waynesboro Hospital, increasing our patient population as well as patient satisfaction.
Q: What hobbies or interests do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy cropping, riding my bike, spending time with grandchildren, teaching Bible school, teaching high school girls about healthy habits, and civil war re-enacting.
