Q: What led you to work in Rehabilitation Medicine?
Answer: Rehabilitation medicine is a specialty that focuses on patient recovery from both life-changing and minor ailments. To me, the appealing aspect of this specialty is the ability to help people regain quality of life. A large part of my specialty is electrodiagnostic testing, aka EMG & Nerve Conduction Studies. It is a test to evaluate the peripheral nervous system, which is much like an electrical circuit, and I believe that my background in electrical engineering has been very helpful.
Q: What drew you to begin practicing in the Franklin County area?
Answer: I grew up in central PA, and have family in the surrounding area.
Q: What would you say is a common misconception about Rehabilitation Medicine?
Answer: The main misconception would be that we only treat chronic ailments. However, rehab medicine deals with musculoskeletal issues resulting from acute injuries such as whiplash. We offer testing that is very helpful in diagnosing the cause and severity of overuse syndromes, such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about working in Franklin County?
Answer: I'm looking forward to providing a service that has been much needed in this community of hard-working, straight-shooting, and genuine people.
Q: What hobbies or interests do you enjoy outside of your career?
Answer: I enjoy ice hockey, golfing, tennis, and frequenting the dog parks with my buddy, Ruffington.
