Q: What lead you to work in occupational health?
Answer: I really enjoy working with businesses and helping with work related issues and injuries.
Q: What drew you to begin practicing in the Franklin County area?
Answer: I originally began working in occupational health in Maryland, but a previous relationship brought me to the Greencastle area. I’ve been here ever since, but was commuting to Western Maryland Health System in Cumberland.
When this opportunity opened up, I knew I wanted to try to work closer to home.
Q: What would you say is a common misconception about occupational health?
Answer: Sometimes we get confused with therapy or people mix-up what services we offer. We’re here to provide safety and preventative services for employers, organizations, students and travelers.
This ranges from DOT Consortium testing to work related injuries to sports physicals to travel immunizations and more.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about working in Franklin County?
Answer: It feels great to be closer to home and to be working in my own community. The drive to Cumberland was very tiring and long, so this allows me to not only to give back locally, but also spend more time with my kids.
Q: What hobbies or interests do you enjoy outside of your career?
Answer: I like bicycling, hiking, fishing, and I have my pilot’s license, which is a lot of fun.
