Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine: After being a labor and delivery nurse for many years, I decided I wanted to be able to do more for the mothers I was caring for. Ways in which I found I could do this was by empowering and advocating for women through midwifery. I want the women I care for to be able to have the knowledge to participate in their own health care and lifestyle choices. I want all women in labor to feel strong, powerful, and feel that they have the knowledge to make informed choices.
What I want my patients to know about me: What I want my patients to know about me is that I am here for you. My goal is to help you, empower you. When you come to a visit in the office for an annual or a prenatal visit, I want you to know I hear you and want to help you feel strong and supported and that you leave the visit feeling positive and helped.
What I do when I’m not seeing patients: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, being outside, camping, and kayaking.
