Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine: I chose health care as a career back in 1982 because I wanted a career that would be challenging as well as meaningful. Everyday since then I have felt privileged to be entrusted by patients and their families to care for them during some of their most vulnerable moments. It is my belief that a career in health care is a noble pursuit and I feel honored that I have had the opportunity to be a part of it.
What I want my patients to know about me (in regard to an office visit with me): It is my role to create a compassionate and nonjudgmental environment in order to provide care in a patient centered manner. We will work together to develop a course of action with your needs and goals as the primary concern. You will be given information regarding your disease and the treatment options and together we will formulate a treatment plan that is acceptable to you.
What I do when I’m not seeing patients: I enjoy spending my free time with my children, family and friends. When the weather is nice, I spend as much time outdoors as possible - I have a dog that needs a lot of exercise and she keeps me moving as well.
