Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine: I initially chose the field of nursing because it offers such as broad array of opportunity. I wanted to work directly with patients and make a positive impact on their lives. As I grew and advanced in my nursing role, I discovered my desire to work specifically with women so I pursued a women's health nurse practitioner (WHNP) degree. My career as a WNHP now allows me the opportunity to help women from adolescence through adulthood meet their health care needs from the preventative care through diagnostic care.
What patients should expect when they come to an appointment with me: Patients can expect a good listener and someone they can trust and confide in. I enjoy educating my patients and strive to help them feel empowered to take charge of their own health care needs.
What I do when I’m not seeing patients: I enjoy spending my free time with my husband, our 4 children, and our grandchildren. I keep busy with going to watch their various activities. I also enjoy camping, kayaking and going to the beach as often as I can.
