Q: What led you to be a surgeon?
I like surgery because I like immediate results. I started working in bariatrics because I noticed obesity is a big problem that can lead to so many diseases. By losing weight, we can help treat and sometimes cure some devastating health conditions.
Q: What is the most rewarding part of your career?
I find it most rewarding when I can help my patients lose weight. I get to witness both a physical and emotional transformation. When we can learn together how to help treat someone’s diabetes through weight loss; I can help them live a better life and be more confident. It is a great thing to see.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about being a part of Summit Health?
So far, what I like about Summit Health is the feeling that I am part of a team. I am very excited that I get to work here in Pennsylvania, and help the people here through what I’ve been practicing for more than a decade.
Q: What hobbies or interest do you enjoy outside of your career?
When I am not at work, I enjoy exercise and fitness activities. I have three young kids, two boys and a girl, and they all play hockey. We’re from Canada! So right now, I am enjoying being a hockey dad.
