Auxiliary completes $1 million pledge
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – What does it take to raise $1 million? According to the Chambersburg Area Hospital Auxiliary, it takes some hard work, a few book sales, big golf tournaments, and a lot of love for your neighbors.
On August 8, Chambersburg Hospital held a celebration luncheon for the Chambersburg Area Hospital Auxiliary. The Auxiliary members had recently presented the hospital with the last installment of a $1 million pledge.
“We are people helping people,” said Mona Etter, president of the Chambersburg Area Hospital Auxiliary. “With the completion of this $1 million pledge, the auxiliary has gifted over $3 million to Chambersburg Hospital. We are proud to continue the auxiliary’s tradition of giving to our local hospital and helping our neighbors.”
According to Chambersburg Hospital officials, $800,000 of the most recent $1 million pledge was used by the hospital for cardiology services – bringing needed equipment, supplies, and even prescription assistance to the hospital’s heart care patients.
The remaining $200,000 purchased medical equipment including defibrillators, stackable wheelchairs and new cribs, and supported many other hospital programs.
“The support the auxiliary has provided to us throughout the years is amazing,” said John Massimilla, vice president for administration and COO for Chambersburg Hospital. “I am grateful for each and every one of the auxiliary’s members who give their talents and time to help us help others.”
