CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Summit Health extends its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Jeff Carty, vice president of finance, who passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 17, 2019.

For 35 years, Jeff served his community and advanced the mission of Summit Health. Most recently he served as the organization’s vice president for finance.  Just one week ago, Jeff was honored for his 35 year commitment to Summit Health at an employee event.  In keeping with Jeff’s love for his family, he selflessly decided to travel to Kentucky over attending the banquet, because his daughter’s college softball team had qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time in history.

Just as Jeff had a passion for his wife and children, he held Summit Health close to his heart.

“Jeff was tireless in his support for Summit, Waynesboro Hospital, our new affiliation with WellSpan Health, and to our patients,” explained Chief Financial Officer, Kimberly Rzomp. “He was the calm in the face of pressures, an extraordinary wealth of information, and excellent judge of events and financial situation, and the person many of us sought out for advice and counsel. He will be sorely missed every day.”

“We lost an incredible man,” said Pat O’Donnell, President and CEO of Summit Health. “Not only was Jeff a respected and integral part of our leadership team, he was more importantly a friend. He was kind and genuine towards every person he worked with, and treated every situation he faced with care and respect.”

We share the sorrow of his beloved family and friends at his passing.
