CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Franklin County community members now have another option when it comes to receiving medical care for unexpected illnesses or minor injuries.
Summit FastCare, located inside the Giant Food Store, 993 Wayne Avenue, offers walk-in care and basic lab services for patients 18 months and older.
“Summit FastCare aims to meet a need in our community for accessible healthcare,” explained Summit FastCare Manager Dale Johnson. “It will also provide healthcare to members of our community who do not have medical insurance.”
For patients without insurance, or who choose to avoid a high deductible, a FastCare visit, including basic labs, costs $100.
Summit FastCare will offer treatments for many common illnesses and ailments including Athlete’s foot, bronchitis, cold and flu symptoms, cough, ear pain and infections, gout, impetigo, insect bites, minor abrasions and burns, pink eye, poison ivy, rashes, ringworm, sinus infections, sore throat, stomach viruses, strep throat, styes, swimmer’s ear, upper respiratory infections and urinary tract infections. It will also offer lab services including rapid strep, urinalysis and pregnancy tests. Patients can also get sports and driver’s permit physicals, and limited immunizations will be available.
Summit FastCare is not a location for chronic disease management nor should it take the place of an emergency room.
The clinic will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5.p.m. For more information on Summit FastCare, please click here.
