CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Summit Endocrinology is pleased to announce the addition of Tara Miller, certified registered nurse practitioner. Summit Endocrinology provides care and treatment for various metabolic, nutrition, thyroid, pituitary and diabetes-related conditions.
Miller said she was drawn to the field of endocrinology because of its relevance to other aspects of medicine.
“I come from a family practice background and was excited to get involved in endocrinology because I liked that it was applicable to any area of medicine,” she said. “I also was interested because I have a family history of diabetes.”
A native of the area, she wanted to remain here to help fellow community members.
“I’m from the area, went to school around here and did my master’s degree program here,” Miller explained. “I wanted to help the people I grew up around.”
Miller said a common misconception related to endocrinology is that diabetes is something you get only if you are overweight.
“That’s certainly not true,” she said. “Diabetes is very complex.”
She looks forward to meeting new people and collaborating to help patients.
“I’m looking forward to seeing and getting to know many people from different walks of life. I’m also excited to learn the different facets of Summit Health and collaborate on how we can help our patients.”
Miller enjoys staying active and being outside when she’s not at work.
“I like to be active and try to make time to exercise,” she said. “I also like to spend time outside and try different sports.”
