CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (March 19, 2015) – Summit Behavioral Health welcomes Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Laura Hanes to the practice.
Hanes joins the practice after graduating in 2014 as a CRNP from Shenandoah University. She has previously worked inpatient psychiatry as a registered nurse.
“Behavioral health was the first job I got when I became an RN and I fell in love with it,” she said. “Outpatient psychiatry appeals to me because I love getting to know patients, watching them improve, and developing a relationship with them.”
While some people may think psychiatrists just throw medications at patients, there’s so much more that goes into the job, Hanes said. For instance, they often take a holistic approach using therapy, exercise and more to help patients.
Outside of work, Hanes enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and new baby. She also enjoys running and working on her family farm.
Summit Behavioral Health’s outpatient center is located at 176 South Coldbrook Ave., Chambersburg. For more information, call (717) 267-7480.
