CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – For many patients living with diabetes, an insulin pump is a daily part of life.  This week, staff members at Summit Endocrinology are showing support for patients by wearing OmniPod insulin pumps.

Insulet, the company that makes the OmniPod insulin pumps, donated $5.00 for every staff member who participated.  The donations will be split between the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the American Diabetes Foundation.

Dr. Jose Galindo said participating was an easy way for him and others to demonstrate their commitment to helping people with diabetes.

“We saw this as an opportunity to help raise money for two wonderful organizations while also sending a message to our patients that we understand the implications of this disease, and that we stand behind them,” he explained.
