DIY pumpkin-spice mask

Hey, Girl.

While you’re drinking and eating all of the things pumpkin spice and transitioning to activities like scouring pumpkin patches, navigating corn mazes, and watching scary movies, let’s talk about the beneficial properties your #basic fall favorite has for your skin.

Pumpkin contains alpha hydroxy acids that can remove dead skin cells to reveal smoother skin and help with cellular turnover. Beta-carotene in this fruit helps with fine lines while zinc can mitigate acne.

Add honey (which has antibacterial properties + antioxidants) and cinnamon (which improves blood flow) to that pumpkin, and you’ve got a delicious (go ahead and taste it – we did) mask to complement your beauty regimen and keep skin glowing between professional treatments.

DIY Pumpkin Spice Face Mask

  • 2 T organic pure pumpkin
  • 1 T raw organic honey
  • 1 dash(ish) of cinnamon

Apply a thin layer to cleansed face (we used our fingers, but you may find it helpful to use a fan brush) and leave on 3 to 5 minutes. Bask in the smell of pumpkin spice. Watch the crisp Fall breeze rustle the turning leaves. Embarrass your child who has a friend over to hang out. Once satisfied, rinse with water and pat face dry. (Don’t be alarmed if you have some slight redness after rinsing off the mask. This will go away.) Follow with our Ultra Lite Facial Cream or Ultra Moisturizing Facial Cream for hydrated, supple skin.

Throw remaining mixture in a container with lid and store in the fridge up to a week for one more round of becoming one with Fall.

A testament to the worthiness of this DIY mask? One of our staff members tried this over the weekend. Her husband noticed her skin looked smoother soon after she rinsed off the mask and moisturized – while he was watching Sunday afternoon football. We call that a win!
