Having trained at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Summit Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Wayne Ledinh to Summit Plastic Surgery & Skin Care Center.
According to Dr. Ledinh, many people think of plastic surgery only as cosmetic, offering procedures such as face-lifts and breast augmentation. And while that’s a small part of it, it’s also about helping people with wound care, facial or hand fracture reconstruction, reconstruction after cancer surgery, and much more.
“I love the idea that every day is different when you work in plastic surgery. Not only does it offer some creativity, but also I feel like I get to know the patients better than when I trained in general surgery. I really enjoy building that relationship and helping them achieve their desired goals, whether that is to return to normal function or to enhance their appearance.”
Dr. Ledinh’s credentials include:
- Plastic Surgery Fellow at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation
- Chief Fellow at the Cleveland Clinic Department of Plastic Surgery
- Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery
- Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery
Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Ledinh graduated from the University of Virginia, College of Arts and Sciences, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and a minor in history. He then obtained his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA after another 4 years of schooling. Dr. Ledinh went on to complete his 5 year General Surgery residency at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, DE.
Finally, he spent another 3 years completing his Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. While at the Cleveland Clinic, he spent two years serving as Chief Fellow in the Department of Plastic Surgery.
