Kibreab was born and raised in Ethiopia. Kibreab graduated from Mekane Yesus Theological Seminary in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2002 with Bachelor of Theology; Norwegian School of Theology with Master of Philosophy in Theology; and Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg in 2010 with Master of Divinity.
After serving as a pastoral intern at St Peters’ Lutheran Church in Lancaster for one year, he went to Penn-State Hershey Medical Center for a one-year residency in Chaplaincy. Before assuming this position, Kibreab was chaplain of Hospice of Washington County, Hagerstown MD.
He is an ordained Minister of word and sacrament with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Kibreab has also served parishes in Hagerstown area. Currently Kibreab is doing Doctoral work at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA.
Kibreab is married to his wife Chaltu Bekele. They live in Hagerstown, MD with their two daughters Simera Gudeta and Rajan Gudeta.
Elizabeth A. Shetter, B.A.
Ms. Shetter (Beth) received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, where she completed coursework in Spanish, French and German. She also completed one year of study abroad at the Université de Strasbourg in Strasbourg, France.
She has been employed as the administrative assistant for the Pastoral Services department since March 2001. She coordinates the on-call chaplain and lay pastoral caregiver programs and performs administrative and/or clerical duties for various other ancillary departments within the hospital.
She also serves as the Spanish interpreter for the hospital, facilitating communication between patients, families and staff regarding all aspects of patient treatment and care. She has also provided interpretation and translation services for a number of local medical practices, professional organizations and businesses. Outside of work, she is very active in the local Spanish-speaking community and attends church at Rios de Agua Viva in Shippensburg, PA.
In her spare time, Beth enjoys knitting, spending time with her dogs and cheering on her favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints. Beth resides in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania with her son Andrew.
