Waynesboro Hospital Health Fair 2018
Thursday, February 14, 2019

WAYNESBORO, Pa. – Waynesboro Hospital is now part of WellSpan Health, but its commitment to the community remains the same.

The 36th annual Waynesboro Hospital Health Fair will demonstrate that continued commitment to area residents and be held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, in the Waynesboro Area Senior High School gymnasium, 550 E. Second St.

“It’s a really exciting time for us because our affiliation with WellSpan Health means a larger network of providers and services to care for our community,” said Vice President and Waynesboro Hospital Chief Operating Officer Melissa Dubrow. “At the hospital, patients can continue to expect the same high level of service and quality care. Waynesboro Hospital remains committed to great care as neighbors take care of neighbors.”

The free event will offer screenings and information for all ages on health and wellness from Waynesboro Hospital departments, Summit Health physician practices and community agencies.

The hospital’s lab team will again offer free screenings for cholesterol and blood sugar.

Adults 18 and older who plan to have their blood tested should not eat or drink 12 hours prior to their screening.

Additional free screenings and tests offered by Waynesboro Hospital and other community agencies at the health fair include:

  • Bone Density
  • Simple Lung Function
  • Balance
  • Grip Strength
  • Diabetic Foot
  • Blood Pressure
  • Adult and Child Vision
  • Body Composition

This year’s health fair will once again feature the “Creation Station” with a variety of fun activities including an interactive Born Learning Trail, which will demonstrate how everyday moments can be teaching opportunities that promote healthy childhood development.

Apparatus from Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department will be present for children to learn about and, weather permitting, the LifeNet81 Medical Helicopter will be on-site for fair-goers to view.
