CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Cardiologist Dr. Arshad Safi, and Endocrinologist Dr. Carina Signori will present a free community seminar, "Your Heart and Diabetes," on Thurs., Feb. 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wilson College's Brooks Complex Auditorium in Chambersburg.

According to Dr. Safi, of Summit Cardiology, heart disease is still a major cause of death in the U.S, and diabetes is a major risk factor.
"Reducing your risk for heart disease coincides with reducing your risk for diabetes," Dr. Safi said. "However, for those who have already been diagnosed with diabetes, you need to learn how to manage the disease in order to reduce the risk of heart disease."
"It's all about living healthy, and Dr. Signori and I hope to provide you with some facts that will encourage you to make healthy lifestyle choices."
Summit Endocrinology provides diabetes education and management, including everything from meal planning, understanding medications, glucose monitoring, and more, said Dr. Signori
