Asthma Education

Children's Asthma Classes

Your child will learn how to manage their asthma, use their medications correctly, and avoid things that trigger an asthma episode. Free classes can be provided during your child's regular school day. To request that an asthma class be provided at your child's school, contact nfickel@summithealth.org.

Asthma Camp

At asthma camp, children learn how to manage their asthma, use their medication correctly, avoid things that could trigger and asthma episode, and have the opportunity to interact with other children who have asthma. We also emphasize that just because you have asthma doesn't mean you can't be physically active. To sign-up your child for an upcoming camp or for more information, contact nfickel@summithealth.org.

Adult Asthma Program

Asthma is a problem that is becoming more prevalent in our population. Asthma can be managed and doesn't need to interfere with one's quality of life. Adults need to know how to differentiate between asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The program describes both disease and uses visuals and handouts for understanding. For more information, contact nfickel@summithealth.org.
