CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Summit Orthopedic Group – Chambersburg, an affiliate of Summit Health, welcomes Physician Assistant Emily Turo to their practice.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Turo attended Penn State before becoming a certified physician assistant at Barry University in Miami. Her desire to be closer to family led her to Summit Health.

“When I decided to move back north, I looked at a couple of areas, but they weren’t the right fit. Then I connected with Summit Health. Everyone was so nice and I felt very comfortable here from the get-go,” she said.

“I actually felt more comfortable at Summit Orthopedic Group on my first day than I did in any of my rotations. I feel like I’m part of a team here.”

In her new position, Turo looks forward to helping patients not only relieve their pain, but also regain movement so they can begin to do things like brush their teeth or pick up their grandkids again.

Outside of work, Turo enjoys spending time with her friends and family, which include six siblings, 10 nieces and nephews, her husband and their new dog.

Summit Orthopedic Group – Chambersburg is located in the Chambersburg Hospital Medical Office Building, 120 N. Seventh St., Suite 101.
