Biography

Q: What attracted you to the practice of cardiology?

Cardiology started for me in undergraduate school when I took a human physiology class. What was most interesting, to me, is the complexity of the cardiovascular system. Later, in graduate school, where I obtained a master’s degree in medical physiology, I did some more in-depth research and that really opened up the door for me. That’s how I knew cardiology was my calling. Now, I like knowing that I’m changing lives for the better.

Q: What drew you to begin practicing in the Franklin County area?

Being a native of Philadelphia, I knew I wanted to practice close to my hometown because I still have a lot of family there. However, I’ve always been in the inner city and wanted a change of pace. I like that there’s less hustle and bustle because that will allow me to get to know my patients and leave more of an imprint and lasting impact on their health.

Q: What would you say is a common misconception about cardiology or something people don’t realize as often?

In my opinion, a major misconception is that the patients aren’t an integral part of the outcome of their care. We want to work with patients every step of the way and coach them through the steps to good health from start to finish.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about living in Franklin County?

I’m really looking forward to establishing my family here, branching out and becoming an integral part of the community. Everyone has been very accommodating and it’s just been a breath of fresh air.

Q: What hobbies or interests do you enjoy outside of your career?

I really enjoy spending time with my family, and we like to get involved with the outdoors, which was a selling point for us when we started looking into Franklin County. I also like sports. I think football is my favorite – I’m a Philadelphia Eagles fan – but all of them are great.
