Summit Health receives award from American Cancer Society

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The American Cancer Society presented Summit Cancer and Hematology Services with their 2012 Corporate Excellence Award on Friday, October 12.
Niki Showe, Vice President for Physician Practices accepted the award on behalf of the cancer services’ physicians and staff.
“The American Cancer Society does wonderful things, and we are so proud to be recognized by them for the excellent care our physicians and staff provide to our patients,” Showe said.
During the award ceremony, four nurses were presented their Oncology Certified Nurse pins. The nurses achieving certification are: Bente Cloud, RN, BSN, OCN; Christa Coss, RN, OCN; Kim Buhrman, RN, BSN, OCN; and Mary McGowan, RN, BSN, OCN.
“We are extremely fortunate to have nurses who have dedicated themselves to achieving and maintaining this certification in an effort to ensure that they are providing our patients with the best care possible” Showe said.
