Summit Health to Help Community GetFit!

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Summit Health has announced plans to offer an adult weight management class called “GetFit!”
The GetFit! Program is a weight management program designed to help participants 18 years of age and older focus on healthy eating habits, exercise and behavior change to promote a healthy body weight. Recipes and food tasting will be included in some of the classes. An exercise specialist will provide a 15 to 20 minute exercise session during each class.
The class will be taught by Drs. Patricia Carey and Paul Klink.
Dr. Carey received her PhD in Food Science from the University of Illinois.
Dr. Klink is a medical provider at Summit Weight Management Services. He is board certified in obesity medicine and bariatric medicine.
A free informational session will be held on February 26 at 7 p.m. at Summit Health Center – Building 2, Second Floor Conference Room (Suite 204), 757 Norland Ave., Chambersburg.
The GetFit! program will be held for 12 consecutive weeks, beginning Monday, March 4. The two-hour class will begin at 7 p.m., and will take place at Summit Health Center – Building 2, Second Floor Conference Room (Suite 204), 757 Norland Ave., Chambersburg
The cost to participate in the GetFit! program is $195 and includes the 12-week program taught by a registered dietitian, food taste testing, recipes, course materials, physical activity break and question and answer sessions with a weight management doctor.
Interested individuals can check with their insurance provider to see if their insurance plan includes any reimbursement for weight management programs.
