MONT ALTO, Pa. – Mont Alto Family Care has welcomed Meredith Schellhase, a native of the Waynesboro area, to their practice as a new physician assistant.

She participated in Summit Health’s Healthcare Career Institute and her desire to work in healthcare was sealed. She attended Saint Francis University, where she earned her physician assistant certification.

While she originally thought she might like to move away from the area, her roots in Franklin County motivated her to stay and join the Mont Alto practice.

“My family here made me want to stay,” she said. “This is where I grew up and this is where I came to see my family doctor. I have so much respect for the practice and it’s nice to be a part of it now.”

When she’s not helping patients, Schellhase is also a gymnastics coach.

Mont Alto Family Care, an affiliate of Summit Health, is located at 6155 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro.
