CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Rev. Dr. Paul Yeun, director of pastoral services at Chambersburg Hospital, will be teaching a seven-week grief support group facilitator training course, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at Chambersburg Hospital.
"The class is not an actual support group, but an educational program geared at training interested members of the community to lead grief support groups in their communities," Dr. Yeun said. "People need help going through the grief process and driving far from home to go to a support group is not always desirable."
The cost for the course is $16, which covers the cost of the training materials. Members of the class will receive the Good Grief Workbook, by Chaplain Cecil Fike, which covers topics such as the grief process, tasks of grieving, and attributes of healthy grieving.
"My hope is that following the class, each participant will become a grief support leader in their community or church," Dr. Yeun said.
For more information or to register for the course, contact (717) 262-4526 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The registration deadline is Friday, Dec. 27.
