Chambersburg Hospital Nets National Five-Star Award
07/31/2012
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Chambersburg Hospital has been named a recipient of the 2012 Community Value Index® (CVI) Five-Star hospital award from Cleverley and Associates.
According to Cleverley and Associates, hospitals receiving this award have low costs, low charges, use financial resources efficiently for reinvestment back into the provision of healthcare, and provide a high quality of patient care, and are operating with a high degree of community value.
“We’re honored to receive this award,” said Norman Epstein, President and CEO of Summit Health. “Quality and efficiency are two of our top priorities.”
Epstein noted that a major reinvestment into the community’s healthcare, a $100 million expansion project at Chambersburg Hospital, is almost complete.
“The new addition to the hospital opens in December,” he said. “We are proud to provide our neighbors with a soothing, comfortable environment so that they can rest easier and heal faster.”
The project includes a 174,000 square-foot, four-story addition on the north side of Chambersburg Hospital, featuring 171 private, single-patient rooms.
Epstein said that the project was designed with patients and their families in mind – everything down to the paint colors and floor treatments were chosen to create a more tranquil atmosphere.
The hospital plans to hold public tours of the new addition in early December.
