Chambersburg Hospital heart care wins gold

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Chambersburg Hospital is one of two hospitals in Pennsylvania to have received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® Gold Quality Achievement Award in 2013.

This second, consecutive gold award recognizes Chambersburg Hospital’s commitment and success in implementing the highest standard of care for heart attack patients.

While being tops in PA, Chambersburg Hospital is also one of only 55 hospitals across the U.S. to receive this award this year. The hospital received the award on September 9.

“Chambersburg Hospital is impacting the lives of so many by using the American Heart Association’s hospital-based quality improvement program, ACTION Registry - Get With The Guidelines for the treatment of your STEMI patients,” said Alexander Kuhn, Vice President of the association’s Mission: Lifeline program.

“The Chambersburg Hospital cardiology program continues to be an award-winning program,” said Dr. Arshad Safi, interventional cardiologist with Summit Cardiology. “The entire hospital team shows so much care and determination in caring for our neighbors. We are proud to not only be receiving this top award, but also to be able to continue to provide life-saving heart care to our community.”
