CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Chambersburg Hospital’s cardiology program continues to receive national recognition.

The hospitals cardiology program received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Action Registry “Get with the Guidelines” Platinum award for higher standards in heart care.

Chambersburg Hospital was one of only 256 hospitals across the US to receive this honor.

“This award recognizes Chambersburg Hospital’s cardiology program as a national leader in treating heart attack patients,” said Patrick O’Donnell, President and CEO of Summit Health. “It proves that our doctors and staff are working hard each and every day to make sure that this area has an outstanding, nationally recognized heart care program available right in our backyard. You don’t have to travel to get amazing heart care.”

“I’m proud of our entire cardiology team,” said Dr. Arshad Safi, Interventional Cardiologist with Summit Cardiology and Chambersburg Hospital. “This award reflects hours and hours of work and dedication of the staff who care for some of our most critically ill patients and their families.”

Chambersburg Hospital’s cardiology services were also recently presented with the American Heart Association’s: Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for treatment of heart attack patients and the Mission: Lifeline Bronze Quality Achievement award for treatment of Congestive Heart Failure.  The hospital continues to receive national recognition for their heart care services.
