Infection prevention is a specialty gaining more attention across the nation as experts work to prevent or control outbreaks of different types of illnesses, such as influenza, measles, and even the Ebola virus. Ruth Freshman, RN, recently earned a distinguished accreditation in the field, her Certification in Infection Control, or CIC.

The RWR Racing Team will hold a car show on Sat., July 18 at the Christian Life Church, 1400 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg. Proceeds will benefit Rhonda Brake Shreiner Women’s Center.

Eight area residents, who plan to pursue or are pursuing health care careers, were honored as the recipients of the Medical Staff Scholarship Award at Chambersburg Hospital’s medical staff meeting earlier this month.

The Greencastle-Antrim Endowment presented scholarship awards to six Greencastle seniors during the high school’s annual academic awards ceremony in May.

Dr. D. Shaun Bryant of Summit Surgical Group – Chambersburg recently completed more than 200 robotic procedures making him one of the highest volume Robotic General Surgeons in Pennsylvania.
