Grateful Patient: Mark Davis

He saved my life…
I'd hurt my back and unknown to me, I had an internal infection that was threatening my life. As my wife and her sister rushed me to the hospital, I was in excruciating pain. It was so bad that my wife and my sister carried me into the emergency room.
Once my infection was discovered, I was taken straight into surgery. Afterwards, I met my surgeon - Dr. David A. Guthrie.
He saved my life.
It's been a long road to recovery. I've been in the Chambersburg Hospital four times since that fateful day in 2007, but it's not been an unpleasant journey.
As a matter of fact, it's just been a wonderful experience. Something that could have been very bad wasn't, because the hospital's people - everybody - have been so caring.
You always hear so much negative stuff about hospitals but I want to congratulate our Chambersburg Hospital…the nurses and physicians; the kitchen staff who prepare the meals; the aides who clean the rooms; the Billing department who help with insurance questions…
What an excellent hospital we have here… I've been treated "well" on my road to recovery.
I have another upcoming surgery after the first of the year and I feel very confident and at ease knowing how I've been treated in the past. I know how this upcoming surgery is going to go.
I'm grateful for what everybody at Chambersburg Hospital has done for me. I'm also happy that we have such a talented and caring medical team here at home.
Thank you Chambersburg Hospital!
Mark Davis, Chambersburg
