Summit Health’s Community Health program helps to improve the health of our neighbors through activities that promote healthy behaviors.
- Health screenings
Throughout the year, we offer screenings for Skin Cancer, Vascular Health, Kidney Function, Bone Density, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose, Cholesterol, and more.
- Prevention of diseases and injuries
Our wellness programs like KidShape, My New Weigh of Life, Children Wellness Days, Heart Health Community Seminar (February) and the Waynesboro Hospital Health Fair (March) teach people of all ages how to stay healthy.
- Children’s wellness outreach
Keeping kids healthy is a top priority for our programs like Asthma Camp, Children's Wellness Days, KidShape, and our annual workshop with local school nurses.
- Asthma Education
We offer Asthma Education Courses for adults and children to help them learn techniques to breathe easier.
- Health fairs
Look for us at several local health fairs including the Waynesboro Hospital Health Fair (March).
- Promotion of healthy habits
We can help you learn more about heart health, sun safety, hand-washing, exercise, weight management, and nutrition.
- Smoking/Cessation Classes
Along with Healthy Communities Partnership, we provide you with Freedom from Smoking Program. This program gives you the tools, techniques, and support to help you stop smoking.
